Outreach
International Mission Trips - Our church supports individuals and
groups to participate on Mission teams to places such as Lithuania, Armenia
and Guatemala to work with United Methodist ministries overseas.
National Mission Trips - Our church sent a team of 12 to New Orleans
in Feb. 07 and January 08 to help with Katrina recovery work.
Hand-in-Hand - First United Methodist Church participates in local
partnerships with Taylorsville Elementary School and East Alexander Middle
School in which we help meet needs of Teachers and Staff as well as
children in the classroom.
Habitat for Humanity - Our church partners with Habitat of Alexander
County to provide meals and volunteer as they help improve the housing
options and lives of our community.
Prison Ministry - we also partner with Alexander Correctional Institute, a
maximum security prison for men. We provide chapel services, teach
Disciple Bible Study weekly, volunteer with One Day With God camps, and
assist with hygiene packets for inmates.
